4-2) and Assessments (4-2)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Parents:<\/p>\n<p>Just a quick note to remind you that the next two weeks are field trips to:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>LACMA-LOS ANGELES COUNTY MUSEUM OF ART<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">On March 26th students from\u00a0 Donatello, DaVinci, Cassatt, Chagall, Monet, and<br \/>\nRivera will go from 10am to 3pm.<br \/>\nOn April 2nd the older students will go from 10am to 3pm. <\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\nThese trips are optional.\u00a0 Attendance is not taken.\u00a0\u00a0 ALL STUDENTS RETURN APRIL<br \/>\n9.\u00a0\u00a0 \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p>For the trip:<\/p>\n<p>Please have your student at the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">F<\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">ine Arts building 3rd floor by 10:00.\u00a0 If your<br \/>\nchild does NOT have a trip slip, he\/she will NOT be able to join us<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Parents are more than welcome to join us!\u00a0\u00a0 It&#8217;s always a great thing when<br \/>\nparents accompany their children to such a great trip AND it also helps us with<br \/>\nthe management.\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42\u00a0\u00a0 If you would like to join us at the museum, you can meet<br \/>\nMs. Lamb and Ms. Mallouf at the front of the museum at 11:00 am.\u00a0 We will cover<br \/>\nall tickets, or you may have your child sign up for a FREE annual pass and they<br \/>\ncan get a parent in for free (this is a great deal for an inexpensive family<br \/>\nouting, as well &#8211; at a later time).\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">We can NOT accept children at the museum<br \/>\nwithout their parent.\u00a0 All children with us MUST have a signed trip slip and<br \/>\nMUST ride to and from the museum with us.\u00a0 Please adhere to this rule &#8211; it is a<br \/>\nsafety and liability issue. <\/span><br \/>\nSiblings, friends, etc&#8230;. are also welcome to join us AT the museum.<\/p>\n<p>Students bring a sack lunch.\u00a0 I recommend students bring water or juice boxes as<br \/>\nthere is no refrigeration for other drinks.\u00a0 There is also a cafeteria, but it<br \/>\nis rather pricey.\u00a0 \ud83d\ude41\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 FOVA will help us out in providing some snacks, but<br \/>\nthat does not replace a meal.\u00a0 Remember we return approx. at 3pm &#8211; it&#8217;s a long<br \/>\ntime.<\/p>\n<p>We will also be incorporating some time during lunch to take the students to the<br \/>\ngift shop,\u00a0 for younger students, if you would like to give them money please<br \/>\nput in an envelope with their name on it and we will give to student at this<br \/>\ntime.\u00a0 I would hate for a child to accidently lose their money and they don&#8217;t<br \/>\nenjoy the rest of their trip.<\/p>\n<p>and&#8230;. please pick up your children on time.\u00a0 Little ones get nervous when<br \/>\ntheir parents are not present when the bus arrives at CalState.\u00a0 It is an open<br \/>\ncampus &#8211; and this is a HUGE safety issue.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Please disregard this next item if your child did not get a packet or you are<br \/>\nunfamiliar with this.\u00a0 This assessment is optional.<br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\nOn April 2nd, students MUST have brought their signed permission to take the<br \/>\nassessment.\u00a0 Without this, we are not allowed to test your child.\u00a0 They will be<br \/>\nsent home.\u00a0 Please arrive a bit earlier &#8211; approx. 9:30 &#8211; 9:45.\u00a0 Students will<br \/>\nalso be leaving a little earlier, approx. 12:45.\u00a0 Students have questions on<br \/>\nwhat to include in their portfolio &#8211; basically, their BEST work.\u00a0 It should have<br \/>\nbeen done in the last year.\u00a0 Students in the conservatory typically are not<br \/>\nassessed until they have been with us one &#8211; two years.\u00a0 We dothis to give them<br \/>\nthe opportunity to build their artistic skills.\u00a0 If they have work from the<br \/>\nconservatory they want to include &#8211; YES, please encourage it.<\/p>\n<p>5-7 of their best pieces &#8211;
